Responsibilities As a SEND Teacher, your responsibilities will include: Planning and delivering lessons that are adapted to meet the diverse needs of students with SEND. Creating and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to ensure that students’ specific learning needs are addressed. Monitoring students’ progress and adapting teaching methods to support their academic and social development. Supporting students with emotional, social, and behavioural challenges, ensuring they feel safe and valued. Collaborating with other teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a holistic approach to student development. Contributing to the development of the school’s SEND provision and helping to create an inclusive learning environment. Requirements To be considered for the SEND Teacher role, you should have: A QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) or equivalent, with experience working with students who have SEND. A strong understanding of different learning needs and strategies for supporting students with SEND. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of SEND students. A valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
