Senior Medical Writer – Med Ed / Med comms
This is a remote working position and can be based anywhere in the UK or Europe.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Hands on development of a range of scientific/medical education materials such as educational slide decks, KOL presentations, and content for Ad Boards.
* Leading discussions on scientific content with clients and external experts (KOLs), both face to face (when necessary) and on calls.
* Contributing to scientific strategy development to inform tactical planning of accounts, both internally and with clients.
* Contributing to organic growth opportunities on accounts.
* Contributing to scientific input for proposals for business growth
* Mentoring and coaching of junior writers (may not always be relevant depending on size and composition of workstream team).
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
* A degree in either Pharmacy, Medicine, Biomedical or Biological Sciences, or Health Sciences.
* A PhD or Postgraduate qualification in Biological Sciences or Biomedical Science would be useful but not essential.
* 5+ years’ experience as a Snr Medical Writer within a medical education/medical communications agency. Knowledge of immunology highly desirable but other candidates will be considered.
* Strong grounding in Med Ed initiatives/ programmes + Scientific events content development
SKILLS
* Level of English: Native English speaker or fully fluent with degree/post-degree education conducted in English language.
* Proficiency in MS Office Tools, especially Word and PowerPoint, also Adobe Acrobat Professional
* Strong communication skills, high emotional intelligence, the ability to adapt approach according to the needs of clients and teams, and the ability to respond rapidly to situations and manage internal/external issues.
* Familiarity with organic growth and contributing to proposals and pitches.
* Ability to deliver materials for events and large educational programmes, and experience of digital projects.
* Working knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations.
