Gap Construction is excited to support this international construction company in their search for an Assistant Site Manager to join the team on a large residential development in Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity for a young, up-and-coming Assistant Site Manager looking to take the next step in their career, assisting in managing the successful delivery of high-quality, large-scale residential projects.
Initial duties will include assisting with the facade works before moving into internal works, providing a great opportunity to gain exposure to all aspects of the site.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supporting the Site/Facades Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring that all activities are carried out efficiently and to a high standard.
2. Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project timelines.
3. Regularly liaising with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure work is progressing as planned and any issues are addressed in a timely manner.
4. Maintaining site records, including health and safety documentation, progress reports, and quality inspections.
5. Helping manage site logistics and resource planning to ensure the site operates efficiently.
Person Specification:
1. Previous experience working in a junior construction management role is desirable.
2. Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage several tasks at once.
3. A proactive attitude with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
4. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety.
5. Site Manager or similar qualification (SMSTS, First Aid, etc.) preferred but not essential.
