Senior Global Medical Director – Rare Disease
This Senior Medical Director role is the Global Medical Affairs Asset Lead for a Rare Liver Disease treatment. Alongside the cross functional Asset Leads and as part of the Global Asset team, you will be accountable for developing and delivering the Global Medical Affairs strategy in order to achieve the agreed objectives.
For this role it is essential that any interested candidates have Global Medical Affairs experience, new drug launch experience on a global/regional scale, possess excellent leadership and influencing skills and have worked in the Rare Disease space (although other disease area backgrounds will be considered such as Gastroenterology and Hepatology).
Key responsibilities:
* Devise and execute global Asset medical strategy for designated, including the development of a 5 year plan
* Actively engage with the Asset Team for strategy planning and update meetings
* Collaborate with wider cross functional teams as required to deliver projects
* Lead the creation and communication of integrated medical data generation and real-world evidence plans
* Lead the development of the Medical Access Strategy and drive its execution
* Represent the business at key scientific meetings
* Manage and oversee ongoing Asset medical studies
* Devise external engagement strategy and maintain relationships with top tier KOLs
* Attend and lead Medical Affairs activities for all relevant major conferences
* Manager of direct reports
Candidate Requirements:
* Higher degree (MD, MPharm, PhD) in the life sciences or relevant clinical discipline
* Therapy area experience in Rare Disease, Gastroenterology or Hepatology
* Significant experience in a Global Medical Affairs setting
* Designed and delivered a global/regional Medical Affairs plan
* New Drug Launch experience on an international scale
* Line management experience
* Strong leadership and influencing skills
* Competent in developing and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
