Join Our Team as a Coaching and Academy Pathway Coordinator at Motorsport UK!
The Coaching and Academy Pathway Coordinator role is essential in managing the administration and logistics of all coaching programmes, athlete development initiatives, and the Motorsport UK Academy. This role is key to ensuring a high-quality and accessible experience for all coaches and participants, whilst also contributing to the development and delivery of coaching and athlete pathways in motorsport.
In addition to administration and logistical duties, the role will support the implementation of Motorsport UK's coaching strategy by working as part of the Competitor Development Team, who’s responsibility it is to enhance the learning and development opportunities available in the sport. The primary objectives associated with this role will be:
1. Lead the administration, organisation, and delivery of existing and new Coach Learning initiatives, including the Level 2 in Coaching Motorsport qualification and other new coaching programmes.
2. Manage learning systems (Sport80, Valamis) to ensure seamless user experience for all coaches engaging in learning and development.
3. Oversee the coordination of coach education courses, including:
4. Communication with candidates on applications, pre-course reading, assessments, and access to the Coaching Hub.
5. Managing payment processes and workshop/webinar scheduling.
6. Tracking attendance, course completion, and gathering candidate feedback.
7. Coordinate a regional strategy for delivering coach qualifications across the UK, ensuring high-quality, consistent training delivery
8. Lead the administration, organisation, and support the delivery of the Girls Karting Academy and other initiatives focused on talent identification and driver development.
9. Engage directly with participants, ensuring their experiences and feedback shape Motorsport UK’s participation initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities
* Liaise with 1st4Sport Qualifications to ensure all coach education programmes meet accreditation requirements and that candidates are correctly registered.
* Support Motorsport UK’s application to 1st4Sport to become an endorsed delivery partner for the Motorsport UK Coach qualification.
* Develop and manage the integration of the Motorsport UK Coach Licence, including its benefits package (discounts, merchandise, insurance) and a structured re-assessment process for licence renewals.
* Support the identification and development of the Coach Development Workforce, organising training and CPD opportunities.
* Collaborate with Marketing & Communications teams and external partners to increase participation in coaching programmes, aligning with key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Promote the Coach Development Pathway at local, regional, and national levels, working with ARDS, ARKS, BARS schools to complement existing instructor pathways.
* Oversee the development of coaching resources that enhance the knowledge, skills, and behaviours of coaches in motorsport.
* Work closely with the finance team to ensure efficiency and financial sustainability of coaching programmes, aligning costs and revenue with strategic goals.
* Ensure Health & Safety, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI), and Safeguarding considerations are integrated into all coach development initiatives.
* Contribute to the long-term coach development strategy, helping shape the future of coaching in motorsport.
* Work closely with tracks, teams, and external delivery partners to ensure the highest quality programme delivery.
* Ensure that the Girls Karting Academy aligns with project objectives and KPIs, collaborating with internal departments to optimise its success.
* Assist in tracking the budgeting, and evaluation of all programmes aimed at increasing participation in motorsport.
* Support with the administration and organisation of the Motorsport UK Academy, ensuring the effective delivery of the talent development programmes.

* Educated to degree level or equivalent vocational qualification.
* Strong administrative and organisational skills.
* Passion for and understanding of coaching and athlete development in sport.
* Commercial awareness to ensure programme financial sustainability.
* Ability to understand strategy and turn this into effective delivery.
* Strong relationship-building skills, with experience working with external stakeholders and partner organisations to achieve results.
* Excellent planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

* Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
Desirable
* Educated to degree level or equivalent vocational qualification in a sport-related discipline, or extensive experience in sport development.
* Experience in motorsport in a coaching or driver development role.
* Knowledge of the UK motorsport landscape and its development pathways.
* Experience working in sport development or within a sports governing body (NGB).
* Proficient in using learning management systems (e.g. Sport80, Valamis etc).
* Experience in managing national campaigns, programmes, or initiatives.
* Relevant coaching qualifications from an NGB or recognised body.
* Experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating sport development programmes.
