The Position The purpose of the club support officer is to support Surrey Cricket Foundation’s ambition of supporting cricket clubs across Surrey to grow the recreational game at all levels across the county. Working as part of a team of 3 Club Support Officers, the officer will be responsible for identifying and maximising opportunities for significant participation growth in clubs across Surrey, developing strong relationships with all the clubs you have responsibility for. Each officer will also assume responsibility for additional specific areas of cricket development activity. Ultimately the officer will play a key role in helping to deliver the outcomes of ECB’s Inspiring Generations strategy, supporting the club network to significantly increase the number of people who believe ‘Cricket is a Game for Me Requirements What you’ll do Work across the London Boroughs of Lambeth, Southwark, Wandsworth, Merton, Kingston, Sutton and Croydon to provide a comprehensive offer of club support to approximately 60 clubs in Surrey Develop close working relationships with all clubs, identifying and working with specific clubs on an annual basis to deliver specific growth and retention objectives Work with the Schools and Young People Team to support the local delivery of Chance to Shine coaching to support the delivery of club development plans Drive the adoption of ECB’s Safe Hands Management System to ensure all clubs deliver on safeguarding compliance and support the growth of Clubmark Accredited clubs in your geographical area Work with clubs on a range of facilities development programmes and work closely with Local Authorities and the Clubs & Facilities Manager to ensure that playing facilities are adequately supported through Playing Pitch Strategies. Manage and deliver Surrey’s allocation of the ECB County Grants Fund and deliver across other funding programmes such as the Sport England Grass Pitch Improvement Fund (GPIF) and the Foundation’s own grant giving fund. Support the Clubs and Facilities Manager in the development and delivery of London Cricket Trust sites across the 7 London Boroughs. Work with the Disability Development Officer to ensure that specific outcomes from the Disability Action Plan are delivered in your boroughs, as necessary. Work with the Diverse Communities Officer to ensure that specific outcomes from the Diverse Communities Action Plan are delivered in your boroughs, as necessary. Carry out other duties and responsibilities of a similar nature to those described above, which may be allocated from time to time as directed by the Line Manager National Programmes – Lead on the development and delivery of National Programmes within the club network across Surrey African Caribbean Cricket Association – acting as a lead point of contact to support and working with clubs from ACCA to assist with their development and growth. The Person The successful candidate will have the following experience / skills / qualities: Essential: Experience of club development work in a sport club setting in a paid or voluntary role Experience of programme/project management Strong relationship management skills Developed influencing skills Experience of writing and/or supporting funding applications for grant aid funding Good communication and interpersonal skills Good computer literacy, including MS Office Good attention to detail Willingness to work unsociable hours as necessary Good time management skills Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team Desirable: A keen interest and understanding of cricket Experience of volunteering within sport, ideally cricket Driving licence and access to transport Benefits £31,500 per annum 5% Club Bonus Scheme 23 days holiday increasing to 28 days based on length of service Non-Contributory Pension scheme / Private Health Care Membership for domestic games, Tickets for International Games and loads more To Apply Please apply by a cover letter outlining why you are suitable for this role and stating your current salary.
