Early Career Teacher (ECT) Location: WirraL Pay: £130 - £150 Per day, dependent on payroll choice Sector: Independent Special Needs School We are looking for a passionate Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join our team at an independent special needs school on the Wirral. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified teacher to gain valuable experience while supporting students in rebuilding their confidence and engaging with their education. About the School: This small provision caters for young people aged 11-14 who have faced disruptions in their education. The school focuses on rebuilding students' confidence and self-esteem through a multi-agency approach, combining academic support with emotional and therapeutic development. With a capacity for 32 students (currently 12 on roll), the school offers small class sizes (3-5 pupils) and a high staff-to-student ratio. Students also take part in enriching activities such as horse riding, team-building, and vocational training in beauty and hairdressing, gaining life skills alongside their academic learning. Your Role as an Early Career Teacher (ECT): Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students. Provide support to students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, creating a safe and inclusive learning environment. Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to engage students and promote learning in various subjects. Build positive relationships with students to boost their confidence and self-esteem. Differentiate lesson content to ensure all students can access the curriculum and make progress. Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to implement personalised education plans. What We're Looking For: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a passion for supporting students with additional needs. A willingness to learn, grow, and develop your teaching skills as an Early Career Teacher. Strong communication and classroom management skills. Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs. A proactive attitude and a commitment to helping students re-engage with their education.
