About the Role We are looking for a Scientific Editor to join our team in Europe and contribute to Cancer Cell and Trends in Cancer. Reporting to the Editors-in-Chief, you will work across both journals, bringing a strong background in cancer research and a passion for scientific communication. This role offers the opportunity to engage with the cancer research community, assess cutting-edge submissions, and help shape the journals' future directions. Responsibilities - Evaluating research submissions and provide editorial recommendations for Cancer Cell. - Commissioning and editing Reviews, Perspectives, and front matter for Trends in Cancer. - Managing the peer-review process to ensure high standards of author service. - Building relationships with researchers and recruit innovative content. - Representing the journals at scientific conferences and institutions, primarily in Europe. - Collaborating with editorial teams and academic Advisory Board members to enhance journal impact. - Contributing to strategy development through data-driven innovation approaches. - Strengthening journal visibility and organize relevant scientific events. Requirements - A PhD or MD in cancer research or clinical oncology. - Strong scientific communication skills and a genuine passion for oncology. - Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills. - Critical thinking skills and an enthusiasm for learning. - Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a global team. - A proactive attitude with a strategic, solution-oriented approach.
