Job Description
We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our growing and friendly team. You will be responsible for the financial management of key client accounts across the Yorkshire Northeast region. Establishing and operating a financial management process that ensures that both internal (T&T) and external client needs are met and that the account is profitable. You will be the single point of contact for all Finance related queries on the accounts.
1. Set up and maintenance of new opportunities/ live jobs on the Financial Management System (charge rates, target fees and cost, closing finished jobs)
2. Management of Intercompany agreements and Intercompany invoices
3. Support the Project Director with the monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting reviews
4. Identifying and providing rationale for variances against budget and forecast figures
5. Review and analysis of the Management Accounts – identifying and reporting trends
6. Responsible for raising monthly invoices and billing report
7. Supporting the Credit Control team as required
8. Time sheet analysis and reporting
9. Responsible for providing the monthly finance reports to external client
10. Responding to requests for information on profitability/deep dive review of job
11. Check and approve contractors’ invoices on purchase ledger
12. Responsible for the contractors’ accrual
13. Support financial analysis within the Cost Assurance function
14. Assist in the growth of the Cost Assurance service offering
15. Raising and receipting purchase orders
Qualifications
Skills & Behaviour
1. Quantitative skills – understanding and manipulating numbers and data
2. Strong Excel Skills (including Sumif, Vlookup, Pivotables and Graphs)
3. High level of accuracy and attention to detail
4. Good communication skills, both written and verbal
5. Good team player
6. Strong organisation and time management
7. Ability to work on own initiative and meet tight deadlines
8. Flexible and responsive attitude
Qualifications
1. Working towards or an ambition to obtain ACCA/ CIMA qualifications – support can be provided
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience working within accountancy/finance based roles
3. Good knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, invoicing and management
4. Experienced in using financial management systems and reports
