Location: 321 Penarth Rd, Cardiff, CF11 8TT An exciting opportunity for an experienced Procurement Manager to join our rapidly growing team in Cardiff. We are looking for an ambitious Procurement Manager to lead our procurement function, with responsibility for the full spectrum of the purchasing process, including supplier selection and management, price negotiation, purchase order execution, and stock optimisation. If you have good commercial awareness, with the ability to negotiate effectively, while maintaining good relationships, then this role could be for you. Who are we? Principality Plastics Warehouse sells DIY/trade products for the building and maintenance sector. We supply to both the trade and DIY Markets through our branch network in Cardiff, Gelli, Gloucester and Swansea. What you'll be doing: • Performing all procurement activities including pre-qualification, negotiating supplier agreements, preparation of contracts, and tender management. • Carrying out day to day tasks including raising of purchase orders and tracking delivery of goods. • Leading the procurement team and delegating tasks and supervising the work of others. • Managing the inventory across the branch network, including liaising with employees to determine customer product and service needs. • Managing the stock profile, including stock rotation, managing aged stock, utilising obsolescence where appropriate. • Forecasting price trends in the market. • Controlling spend and building a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs. • Supporting with the forecasting for the working capital cycle. • Building long-term relationships with supply chain partners • Managing and tracking the shipment, inventory and supply of materials, for both UK and overseas suppliers. • Preparing daily, weekly and monthly procurement reports. • Training newer members of the team. • Identifying areas for improvement, to continually drive performance and business results. • Ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to. • Ensuring adherence to all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations. What you will have: • CIPS Level 5 or equivalent by experience. • Proven working experience as a Procurement Manager or Head of Procurement. • Talent in negotiation and networking. • Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers. • Strong leadership capabilities. • Experience of importing from the far East. • Experience of collecting and analysing data.
