We have a great opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as an Investment Operations Senior Analyst providing technical support to colleagues in our Investment Operations teams as well as being involved in delivery of change initiatives, from process improvement to strategic change.

Location: This role will be based in our Telford office, with the team coming into the office a minimum of 2 days per week and the remaining will be flexible; working from the office or home. Context
Embedded within the Asset Management function, our Investment Operations team are responsible for the administration of around 2,000 unit-linked and with-profits funds with over 9,000 pricing series linked to them. Our roles vary from oversight of fund accounting and unit pricing, placement of trades and the maintenance of customer facing data for our funds.
The Role
This is a great opportunity for someone with the relevant experience and qualifications to join our Trading & Box Management team. You will become an expert in all aspects of the end-to-end trading and asset / liability matching processes along with investigating and resolving cash breaks between accounting and custody records. You will provide technical support and training to colleagues, take the lead on process improvements to optimise what we do, and ensure that robust controls are in place. Working to strict deadlines as determined by the investment markets we deal in you will need to balance competing priorities and ensure that tasks are successfully delivered.
You will be an organised and dependable member of the team, able to play a key part in the monitoring of actions and management of risks and controls that we are responsible for.
Key Responsibilities
1. Unit matching – Ensuring that the ReAssure policyholder liabilities and asset holdings are aligned and determining what needs to be processed. You will be responsible for challenging and investigating differences and providing MI on transactions, accuracy and profit & loss for governance oversight..
2. Trading & Creations process – Sign off of trade instructions via multiple platforms such as Aegon & EMX and ensuring accurate postings to our Fund Accounting & Custody platforms.
3. Cash reconciliation – investigating and resolving breaks between fund accounting and custody records. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to obtain resolution.
4. Risk and Control – support the on-going delivery and design of robust, effective and efficient operational, finance processes and controls.
5. Rebate validation – monitor rebates received from Aegon on our TPF holdings to ensure that they are aligned with expectation.
6. Fee posting – support the posting of received fees to the ReAssure funds. Actively liaise with other ReAssure teams to ensure they have awareness.
7. Interfund transfers – Sign off the movement of cash between accounts following trade settlement.
8. With Profit and Managed fund asset allocation –manage requests from our Asset Management team and external fund managers (abrdn, LGIM, Quilter, HGAM) with the implementation of asset allocation changes.
Minimum Requirements
Experience / Knowledge
Essential
9. Experience within Financial Services industry preferably in investment fund operations with understanding of Unit Linked and With-Profit funds. You possess in-depth knowledge of unit-linked/with-profits fund administration processes (including unit matching & box management and trading) OR have a background in fund accounting.
10. You are proactive, inquisitive and are willing to challenge the status quo.
11. You're comfortable communicating complicated technical content to stakeholders at all levels.

13. Proficient MS Excel user with experience with macros.
