We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our team based in Wolverhampton. The ideal candidate will have experience using iTrent HR & Payroll Software and will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payroll for a diverse range of employees. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong payroll knowledge to join a supportive and growing team. Hybrid working options are available for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
* Payroll Processing: Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, ensuring that salaries, bonuses, commissions, and deductions are accurate and paid on time.
* iTrent Management: Utilize iTrent HR & Payroll software to process payroll data and maintain records.
* Data Entry & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of employee working hours, absences, leave, and deductions. Ensure all payroll data is correct and in line with company policies.
* Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant payroll legislation and internal company policies. Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and employment regulations.
* Reporting: Prepare and generate accurate payroll reports for management, including payslips, year-end reports, and other necessary documentation.
* Employee Queries: Respond to and resolve employee payroll-related inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
* Bank Reconciliation: Process bank payments and ensure the payroll is reconciled with the financial records.
* Pension & Benefits Administration: Manage pension contributions and other employee benefits, ensuring they are processed accurately.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience with iTrent HR & Payroll Software is beneficial
* Previous experience in payroll processing within a fast-paced environment.
* Strong understanding of payroll legislation, tax codes, and statutory payments.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
* Relevant payroll qualification (e.g., CIPP) would be advantageous, but not essential.
Desirable Attributes:
* Experience working in a similar payroll officer role.
* Previous experience with HR software systems in addition to iTrent would be beneficial.
* Proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
