Right now, we're looking for a Staff Software Engineer to lead and inspire a team of talented engineers while delivering extensive individual contributions.
As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll be instrumental in shaping our technical landscape and driving innovation. We're seeking someone who can balance hands-on coding with strategic thinking, ensuring we're building scalable, reliable systems that meet our users' needs. Your expertise in software engineering best practices will be crucial as you champion code quality, system design, and technical excellence across the organisation.
While primarily a backend role, you will play a hands-on role in the engineering team, working closely with product and other engineering leaders; you will plan and deliver multi-year projects, develop technical roadmaps, contribute to architectural decisions, influence others in technical decision-making and technology adoption within your domain.
You'll have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, lead large cross-functional teams, present your work directly to the VoucherCodes Leadership Team, and share best practices with international counterparts in the US.
What we need from you
* 10+ years of professional software engineering experience
* Proven track record of leading and delivering multi-year, multi-team projects
* Deep knowledge of multiple technologies, including PHP, MySQL, TypeScript
* Experience with Nuxt, Vue.js, Docker, Kubernetes to collaborate with other teams
* Beneficial to have experience with gRPC & Protocol Buffers
* Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS
* Experience with scalable and reliable system design
* Strong understanding of software engineering best practices and design patterns
* Excellent problem-solving skills with a holistic approach
* Proven ability to mentor and develop other engineers
* Strong communication and leadership skills
