Job Description:
PlayMandarin is seeking a passionate and dedicated Mandarin Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a Mandarin Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our mission to inspire children to explore the richness of Chinese language and culture. You will work closely with experienced educators to create dynamic and immersive learning environments that foster curiosity, creativity, and confidence in language acquisition.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in delivering interactive Mandarin Chinese classes for children aged 3-12, both in-person and online.
* Support the development of lesson plans, materials, and activities that engage young learners and promote language acquisition.
* Facilitate small group activities, games, and exercises to reinforce language learning objectives.
* Provide one-on-one support to students as needed, encouraging participation and fostering a positive learning environment.
* Assist in the management of classroom dynamics and behavior to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.
* Collaborate with the teaching team to assess student progress and provide feedback to parents/guardians as required.
* Contribute to the development and improvement of curriculum content and teaching methodologies.
Requirements:
* Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (advanced level in traditional Chinese).
* Understanding Taiwanese.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire young learners.
* Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
* Enthusiasm for language teaching and a passion for promoting cultural understanding.
* Flexibility to work both in-person and online, as well as on weekends or evenings as required.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Relevant qualifications in education, language teaching, or a related field are desirable but not essential.
