Purpose of the Electronics Design Engineer role: To develop software and features of both existing & new products.

Powerstar is now looking for an Electronics Design Engineer to work in a small team environment developing hardware and firmware for our existing and new products. The candidate must have a good understanding of power electronics and software languages.
Electronics Design Engineer Main Duties & Responsibilities
1. Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems (Microchip) for Energy Systems, especially for transformers from requirements to production and commercial deployment.
2. Building and testing PCB prototypes including soldering components.
3. PCB design for the control circuit for Energy Systems.
4. Design, develop, code, test, and debug systems both software and hardware.
5. Review code and design.
6. Integrate and validate new product designs as well as hardware design and development.
7. Support software QA and optimize I/O performance.
8. Provide post-production support.
9. Assess third-party and open-source software.

Requirements for the successful Electronics Design Engineer
1. Minimum of 5 years design experience in an industrial environment.
2. Proven working experience in software and/or power electronic engineering.
3. Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets as well as PCB design.
4. Solid programming experience in C or C++.
5. Solid experience in PCB design via Mentor Pads and Altium Designer.
6. Proven experience in embedded systems design with pre-emptive, multitasking real-time operating systems.
7. Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review.
8. Excellent knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces, and hardware subsystems.
9. Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components.
10. Strong design and test documentation and writing skills.
