Enhanced Recovery Programme Nurses work with patients after surgery to help them recover and improve their clinical outcomes. They use evidence-based care to reduce the length of patients' hospital stays.
Responsibilities include:
* Providing specialist advice and care to patients undergoing the Enhanced Recovery Programme, including assessment, planning, implementing care, and psychological support for patients with a stoma.
* Counseling patients undergoing the Enhanced Recovery Programme or having a stoma for surgery pre and post-operatively, providing practical and psychological support for patients and carers in distressing circumstances.
* Organizing and running nurse-led clinics to assess patients undergoing the Enhanced Recovery Programme or with a stoma, initiating investigations and procedures, and making recommendations for treatment.
* Ensuring high standards of patient care in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.
* Developing effective communication with the multidisciplinary team, relatives, and other nursing staff to ensure they receive clear and accurate information.
