Job Title: Project Manager (Steelworks)
Location: Luton (Office-based 3 days/week, Site-based 2 days/week)
Salary: Up to £75,000 + Benefits
Company Overview:
A rapidly growing company in the architectural and structural steel industry is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee high-value metalwork projects, including balustrades, staircases, façades, cladding, and canopies. With a team-oriented environment and significant projects in London, this role offers a chance to manage exciting projects valued between £500k and £2m.
The company has a turnover of £4m in 2024, with a target of £4.8m for 2025, offering clear progression opportunities as the business continues to grow. Reporting directly to the Project Director, you will work closely with a supportive team and have the chance to take ownership of key projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Execution: Lead the planning and delivery of metalwork projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
2. Team Coordination & Leadership: Oversee a project team of PMs and Junior PMs, managing internal teams and subcontractors.
3. Budgeting & Cost Control: Develop and manage project budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality.
4. Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure all installations meet relevant regulations and client specifications through regular quality inspections.
5. Client & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and architects, maintaining clear communication and managing project expectations.
6. Health & Safety: Ensure all projects adhere to strict health and safety regulations.
What We Are Looking For:
1. 5+ years of project management experience within the architectural metalwork or construction industry.
2. Proven expertise in managing large-scale projects from inception to installation.
3. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a cross-functional team.
4. Excellent communication skills and ability to manage client relationships effectively.
5. Familiarity with metalwork fabrication processes and project management software is a plus.
