Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, this role will be accountable to the VP of Engineering and the Chief Engineers for the generation of the Design Verification Plans, to verify all engineering content for all Singer vehicle programmes through testing. The DVP will ensure that the vehicles meet attribute targets and pass legislative defined tests to meet the requirements of the Singer target markets. This role will provide ownership of major vehicle system design testing and ensuring all programmes in the operating plan are delivered on time, on budget and to specification. The role will contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice Engineering processes, vision, strategy, policies, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
Main Responsibilities
* Own the Design Verification test Plan for all Singer programmes.
* Preparation and presentation of material on the Final Engineering Sign Off status to support external and internal project status reviews.
* Overseeing whole vehicle testing financial budgets and test bookings.
* Identify and implement best practice engineering processes, improving robustness in our engineering integrity.
* Where required support test activity at test tracks and facilities in the UK and Europe.
* Help define vehicle attribute targets through consultation with Chief Engineers and seniors within the business, assess target and benchmark vehicles where required.
* If required deliver Vehicle Engineering Management responsibilities across smaller programmes
o Be responsible for the delivery of the engineering content for reduced scope programmes.
o Work with the engineering commodity heads to ensure programmes are delivered on time and budget.
o With the Programme Management team, own delivery for all projects in line with SCDP (Singer Creative Development Plan) and ensure the cascaded KPIs are on track.

Knowledge, skills, and experience
* A high level of technical knowledge & experience of vehicle component & system design, test & production delivery processes.
* PC literate and a competent user of MS Office products.
* Experienced in OEM and/or Engineering Services.
Qualifications and Training
* Mechanical or Automotive Engineering Degree or relevant experience.
* Formal management qualifications advantageous.
