We are currently recruiting for a motivated, experienced and enthusiastic individual who can provide a wide range of activities to interest and stimulate the physical and mental state of our residents, understanding the need of promoting the philosophy of privacy and dignity, independence and choices, rights respect and fulfilment for all residents. Good personal and interpersonal skills are essential. 24 hours per week.
The right candidate will be offered support through mentorship and training program to ensure they have all the right tools to succeed in their role.
Tasks in brief:
· Planning and organising ongoing weekly activities and events in conjunction with the residents wishes and encourage residents to maintain existing hobbies
Assessing individual needs continuously, particularly with regard to possible rehabilitation and participate in resident reviews as appropriate
Maintaining full and accurate records of activities using the relevant documents, in order to monitor, record and evaluate individual and group participation and success
Organising and encouraging staff members, relatives, friends and local community to participate and assist in the Homes activities and fund raising initiatives
Researching and implementing new developments in the field of caring for older people
Assisting the Home Manager in actively marketing the Home and promoting a positive profile within the community
Leading resident and relative meetings
Completion of activity diaries, detailing activities residents have participated in.
Advertising upcoming events including posters, social media, photo boards and emails to families and friends.
Lead and arrange celebrations such as birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions.
Lead fundraising ideas and maintain funds to pay for residents entertainment
Being aware of your Health and Safety responsibilities and carrying out related duties
Carrying out one-on-one activities with residents who are unable to participate in group activities
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS
· Proven ability to develop and organise a range of events / activities for Clients in all Client categories.
· Good communication and organisational skills.
· Team player.
· Ability to work on own initiative.
· Friendly, creative and confident.
· Genuine interest in working with the relevant Client group.
