Working as a core member of the team you will have responsibility for the training, education, and continuing workforce development of staff within the Emergency Department. In partnership with colleagues in the other sites department you will lead on the specialty specific and mandatory training needs of the staff within the Emergency Department.
You will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of a training needs analysis plan in line with existing national guidance and the Trusts mandatory training programme.
You will act as a clinical and professional role model to maintain and develop exceptional standards of clinical care, promoting and fostering a culture of education and clinical development within the workforce.
You will work alongside a number of specialities including the department and regional trauma group to develop and deliver training opportunities in line with regional and national standards, the Paediatrics team to deliver on face in the future standards and Mental Health, whilst promoting the Emergency Nursing Career Development Pathway, including completion of RCN and NMTNG competencies, maintaining high standards in education and clinical development within the workforce.

Main duties of the job
1. Support the creation, development, and maintenance of an effective learning environment in clinical practice.
2. In response to training needs analysis, be responsible for the facilitation of training and organise specific educational programmes that contribute to the strategic development of the service.
3. Contribute to the provision of a support system for senior and junior staff, in order to assist their development in lifelong learning.
4. To be responsible, in some clinical teaching situations, for the provision of care and safety of the patient.
5. Through expert clinical practice and an evidenced based approach, supports the development of standards of care for emergency nursing.
6. Deliver a robust training pathway in relation to the Education pathway for Emergency Care Nurses.
