Job Title: Part-Qualified Assistant Accountant

Our client, a high-growth travel platform, is looking for an ambitious Assistant Accountant to support the Finance Director and take responsibility for the day-to-day accounts.
The ideal candidate will be studying towards their accounting qualifications, have previous relevant experience, and a flexible, can-do attitude.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to qualify and be involved in the accounting process from processing invoices to preparing accounts.
Description
The responsibilities of the Assistant Accountant include but are not limited to:
* Maintain financial records for multiple entities.
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
* Ensure all reporting and returns are completed accurately and on time.
* Manage accounts payable by ensuring supplier payments are reconciled, tracked, and paid on time.
* Oversee accounts receivable, including invoicing, producing statements for clients and business partners, and following up on overdue accounts.
* Work collaboratively with management and other team members to improve financial processes.
Skills
The skills of the Assistant Accountant include but are not limited to:
* Actively studying towards an accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) and have sat and passed exams.
* Previous experience preparing detailed financial reports.
* Previous experience managing AP/AR and preparing financial statements.
* Good knowledge of Xero and advanced Excel.
* Attention to detail and strong numerical literacy.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Experience in travel or a high-growth startup is a distinct advantage.
