GSL Education are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work in schools across Southampton, providing essential classroom support to help students reach their full potential. As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work closely with teachers to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment. You will assist students in the classroom, provide one-to-one or small group support, and help them stay engaged with their studies. This role is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic, patient, and committed to helping students succeed. Teaching Assistant Responsibilities: Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and providing additional classroom support. Support students with their learning on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. Encourage student participation and confidence in the classroom. Help maintain a positive and structured learning environment. Support students with literacy, numeracy, and other key curriculum areas. Assist with behaviour management and student well-being. Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to meet the needs of all learners. Requirements of a Teaching Assistant: Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is desirable. A CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance is beneficial but not essential. A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field is advantageous. Strong communication and teamwork skills to support students effectively. A patient, adaptable, and positive approach to working with children.
