At Sodexo, you will be an essential member of the team working as a Cleaning Supervisor in George Watson's College, 67-71 Colinton Road, Edinburgh, EH10 5EG. You will be responsible for the site's overall appearance on a daily basis, providing outstanding cleaning services to keep the surroundings safe and hygienic for everyone.
What you’ll do:
* Provide guidance to cleaning staff on cleaning techniques, use of equipment, and adherence to safety protocols.
* Assign cleaning duties, inspect work areas regularly to ensure cleanliness, and report any issues to the appropriate department.
* Monitor and maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies, equipment, and other related materials.
* Conduct regular quality checks to ensure compliance with sanitation and safety guidelines.
* Perform administrative duties, including scheduling, attendance management, performance evaluations, and handling personnel matters.
* Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance, to address specialised cleaning needs and resolve any facility-related issues promptly.
* Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures to optimise efficiency and productivity while maintaining a high level of cleanliness.
* Provide excellent customer service to staff, students, and visitors, responding promptly and effectively to cleanliness-related concerns or inquiries.
What you bring:
* Proven experience as a cleaning supervisor, preferably in an educational or institutional setting.
* Solid knowledge of cleaning and sanitation practices, equipment, and chemicals.
* Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
* Excellent organisational and time-management abilities to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work well under pressure.
* Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Proficiency in using cleaning equipment and knowledge of safety precautions while operating them.
