About the Role:
As a Structural Engineer, you will report directly to the Design Team Manager and work closely with a talented group of engineers. You will be responsible for delivering structural designs and calculations, particularly focusing on steel structures in the industrial and agricultural sectors. This role offers flexible remote or hybrid working arrangements, with a preference for candidates located in the Central Belt of Scotland or Cumbria for periodic site visits.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct structural calculations and ensure compliance with safety and industry standards.
* Design and manage steelwork structures for industrial and agricultural projects.
* Collaborate with architects, project managers, and the design team to develop and execute project plans.
* Ensure all projects comply with SER registration and relevant building codes.
* Provide technical reports and documentation to support project milestones.
* Conduct site inspections and offer guidance during the construction phases.
Requirements:
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is desirable but not essential.
* SER registration is highly preferred.
* Experience in structural calculations and steel design, particularly for industrial or agricultural projects.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a remote or hybrid setting.
* At least 3-5 years of experience in structural engineering.
