Health Care Assistant CAMHS Crisis and Home Treatment Team - Herefordshire
Hours: Fixed Term Post - 37.5 a week including weekends, shifts & bank holidays.
This team operates 7 days a week between the hours of 8am and 8pm.
CAMHS Crisis and Home Treatment team works within the community hospital and the clinic base, completing urgent assessments and offering intensive support to children and young people who might otherwise require inpatient care or are in need of intensive support that exceeds the normal capacity of a generic CAMHS team. We are looking for additional Health Care Assistants to join our team.

Main duties of the job
With this role no two days will be the same; this is a fast-paced team aiming to provide high quality community care for children and young people in crisis. You will be required to support our qualified staff when completing risk assessments and Safety Plans that can support children and young people in the community. You will liaise with the multi-disciplinary team both within CAMHS and within the child's larger support network to ensure they have appropriate support to help keep them safe and aid recovery. The home treatment model will focus on skill-based sessions, teaching children and young people coping strategies to support them in crisis situations, whilst also assessing any ongoing risk and offering creative solutions to ongoing difficulties.

* Experience of working with children and young people

* Comfortable with working under direction but able to use own initiative
* Ability to meet the travel requirements of the post

* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English in both verbal and written formats.
* Ability to travel to patients at the needs of the service across a wide geographical area in a timely manner.
* To be able to follow the patients Care plan and provide interventions.

Qualifications
Essential
* Level 3 qualification (e.g. A-level, NVQ3) in Care or Level 2 qualification (e.g. GCSE Grade A-C) in Care and will be expected to undertake the relevant Level 3 qualification on appointment to post
* Will be expected to meet the Care Certificate standards within 12 weeks of commencing employment with the Trust
* I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
Desirable
* Evidence of mental health qualifications/training.

* Understanding of a range of communication styles when working with children and families.
