HGV Technician
Location: Broxburn
Day shifts: Monday to Friday - 11am-8pm
Salary: £19.50ph - £40,560 basic
On call: 1 in 6 weeks - Van provided and paid at 1.5
Class 1 licence: Desirable but not essential

A specialist Fleet business who have been in operation for 15 years. My client is customer-focused and ensures constant training is provided to their ever-growing team. They are seeking a skilled Mechanic with a strong background in HGV repair and maintenance. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all vehicles and trailers are operating safely.
About your new HGV Technician role
1. Conduct thorough inspections of machinery and vehicles to identify potential issues.
2. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including vehicle inspections, MOT test preparation, brake repairs, and service work.
3. Diagnose mechanical problems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
4. Repair or replace defective parts and components as needed.
5. Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed.
6. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
7. Collaborate with other team members to enhance overall operational efficiency.
The successful HGV Technician will require:
1. In-depth knowledge of HGV and trailers.
2. Hold an HGV licence Class 1 (desirable but not essential).
3. Industry recognised qualifications as an HGV Technician (NVQ or City & Guilds level 3).
4. Detailed experience as an HGV Technician and familiarity with modern commercial vehicles. PSV experience would be beneficial but not essential.
