About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety professional to join our experienced team at the Port of Tilbury as a SHEQ Advisor (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality). This is a crucial role within our business, that supports the HSEEM in protecting the health & safety of our workforce and the environment that we operate in. This role is responsible for providing professional safety, health and environmental advice and support across all assets in the Port of Tilbury, and will work specifically on one of our large assets in the Port. It will involve building strong relationships with multiple stakeholders across the business, and supporting teams to foster a positive and safe working environment. An important element of the role is to advise and assist operational management teams not only in the implementation of SHEQ policies, and would suit someone who is committed to enabling and encouraging a positive mindset towards all areas of H&S.
Key responsibilities:
* Identify significant operational risks from a SHE perspective and ensure appropriate mitigations are identified and implemented.
* Implement a process for auditing implementation of the SHE Management System and ensure that any required corrective action is clearly identified and assigned as appropriate.
* Take quick and effective action with departments who fail to meet the required standards.
* Monitor communication and training on health and safety matters to ensure that all employees understand their full responsibilities for health and safety.
* Assist with and provide feedback in SHE consultations.
* Capture and manage accurate information associated with incidents.
* Analyse incident investigation, reactive and proactive data and communicate findings as appropriate.
* You will also be tasked with ad-hoc duties including reporting, H&S projects and supporting Management.
What are we looking for?
We are keen to hear from individuals with current or recent experience within a similar SHE role and who is passionate about fostering a strong H&S culture within the workplace. We are looking for someone with the expertise to support the teams in the practical day to day working environment, but also on an equally important legislative basis.
Skills and Qualifications:
* A number of years' experience of working within a SHE role where you have worked with Plant & Equipment.
* Qualified to NEBOSH General Certificate and working towards / willing to obtain a Diploma level qualification.
* Strong working knowledge of ISO45001.
* Ability to work under pressure and within fast changing environments.
* Good IT literacy skills (MS Office and data management suites).
