What is the job role?We are looking to appoint an energetic, caring and reliable Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant to join our hard-working team. Duties will include:Being responsible for securing the safety, welfare and good conduct of our children during lunchtime, following the procedures of the schoolCreating play opportunities for children, physically able to engage all children in play, e.g. skipping, dancing, basketball, table tennis and the outdoor gymAdministering first aid (training will be given)Assisting pupils with developing their eating skillsAncillary services such as cleaning up the dining room and setting up and putting away play equipment.In return, we can offer:friendly, happy and well-behaved children who are keen and eager to learna caring and supportive team of colleagues who are committed to providing the best lunchtime experience for our pupilsongoing professional development opportunities, including first aid trainingWho are we looking for?Our ideal candidate will:be passionate about working with children, ensuring that the behaviour, safety and well-being of children are always paramount within any activitytake pride in their work and value themselves as an integral part of the school communitybe able to communicate effectively with others to receive and pass on information and instructions, and guide a firm but pleasant mannerhave experience of children in some capacity of responsibility (for example, you have children of your own or previous experience of working in a school)adhere to the guidelines set by the Head Teacher for lunchtime supervision and accept supervision from the Senior Supervisory Assistant or the School Business Managerhave knowledge of how children play and its relevance to their developmenthave a Paediatric First Aid level qualification or a willingness to undertake the training (this would be provided by the school)have an understanding of Child Protection & Safeguarding and relevant Health & Safety issueshave an understanding of the boundaries of confidentiality and maintain theseOur school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
