An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Enterprise Projects City Deal Team to support the delivery of North Lanarkshire’s City Deal Programme and wider infrastructure initiatives. In this role, you will have a particular focus on the delivery of core projects of the North Lanarkshire’s City Deal Programme which is a significant and challenging regeneration and connectivity initiative, focused on creating the necessary infrastructure, to drive forward large-scale change and stimulate economic growth for our area and the wider Glasgow City Region. You will be responsible to the Programme Leader (City Deal Manager) for the development and management of some of North Lanarkshire’s largest City Deal infrastructure projects. Providing a vital intelligent client role, you will work with external consultants and council services, leading and coordinating multidisciplinary project teams to prepare road design, secure technical consents, secure funding packages and have oversight alongside Contract Managers to facilitate future works contracts in line with the requirements of the Glasgow City Region (GCR) Assurance Framework and Procurement Strategy. The main focus of the role will be the delivery of the East Airdrie Link Road project, comprising a 10km of new carriageway and associated road infrastructure including Structures and Active Travel from Chapelhall to Riggend. The East Airdrie Link Road will form a significant part of the Pan Lanarkshire Transport Corridor alongside the Ravenscraig Access Infrastructure creating a north south strategic corridor linking the M74 with the M80. With a degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, you will have significant experience in a civil engineering, regeneration, project management and/ or related background. You must be able to demonstrate proven and substantial project management skills, including the management and delivery of complex and large-scale road infrastructure projects. You will have significant experience of managing external consultants and contractors and have experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams including developing multi agency initiatives, strategies and policies. You will have experience of developing and maintaining effective cross-sector partnership working and should have experience of preparing, monitoring and controlling capital and revenue budgets. You must be able to travel throughout North Lanarkshire and surrounding areas to undertake the duties of this post.
