About The Role
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Product Support Technical Engineer for Managed Mobile Service (MMS) to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Solihull.
Our client's Technology Product area is responsible for providing technical support and expertise for their IT infrastructure products. Working with cutting-edge mobile and tablet technologies in a dynamic IT environment, this role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimising infrastructure components to ensure high availability and performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities
1. Provides technical information and support on the evaluation, installation, acquisition, and use of the MMS service.
2. Works with Problem Management to document root causes and potential solutions to problems and recommends changes (including fundamental ones) to system configurations to prevent recurrences.
3. Evaluates usage patterns and recommends methods for improving the information on the incident and problem resolution knowledge base.
4. Manages, establishes, and troubleshoots issues with the wider MMS Service team, including detailing issues in service process/procedure and recommending improvements.
5. Implements new functions and facilitates migration to more modern platforms supporting the MMS Standard Service, testing and implementing new releases and providing team training on operating the upgraded service.
6. Serves as a consultant in specialty areas related to that concern a variety of functional operations associated with the MDS Standard Service and provides technical assistance and advice.
7. Configures and manages Microsoft Intune for Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Mobile Application Management (MAM).
8. Implements and maintains Samsung Knox for secure enterprise mobility management and device provisioning.
9. Defines and enforces compliance policies, security baselines, and conditional access policies to protect corporate data.
10. Troubleshoots and resolves mobile OS (iOS/iPadOS/Android) and application-related issues.
11. Manages and deploys corporate and BYOD devices securely using Intune, Knox Mobile Enrollment (KME), and Apple Business Manager (ABM).
12. Develops and optimises automation and scripting for device provisioning, compliance enforcement, and management tasks.
13. Collaborates with security teams to enhance device protection, including Defender for Endpoint, and data loss prevention (DLP) policies.
14. Maintains application deployment, patching, and OS update strategies for mobile and tablet devices.
About You
Requirements
1. Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT infrastructure support or a related role.
2. Proven experience in enterprise mobile device management (MDM/MAM).
3. Strong expertise in Microsoft Intune, including device enrollment, compliance, and security policies.
4. Experience migrating from VMware AirWatch (Workspace ONE) to Microsoft Intune.
5. Hands-on experience with Samsung Knox Suite (KME, Knox Manage, Knox E-FOTA, Knox Configure).
6. Deep understanding of Android Enterprise, iOS/iPadOS management, and Apple Business Manager.
7. Knowledge of conditional access, identity protection, and Zero Trust security principles.
8. Experience with mobile application packaging and deployment.
9. Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, JSON, Graph API, or equivalent for device automation).
10. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
11. Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102).
12. Microsoft Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert (MS-102).
13. Samsung Knox Professional or Advanced Certification.
14. VMware Workspace ONE Certification.
15. ITIL Foundation Certification.
16. CompTIA Mobility+ / Security+.
