Are you a passionate and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) who is looking to join our multidisciplinary team?
Main duties of the job
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will work with a range of individuals to maximise their potential and to enable them to enjoy the best possible quality of life. You will independently assess communication needs in various environments, implement communication support approaches based on assessments, and provide functional targets and recommendations for effective daily communication. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and support the implementation of therapeutic approaches across the environment. You will respond to referrals, ensure an inclusive communication environment, complete audits, and adhere to the RCSLT 5 good communication standards. A key aspect of your role will be to work effectively as part of the companywide SLT team and contribute to service development.

Cambian Wing College is a specialist further education college offering both day and 38-52 week residential placements for students aged 16-25 years with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder and associated mental health conditions. We provide robust therapeutic support alongside academic and vocational programmes to help students gain essential life skills and qualifications.
About You
The successful candidate will have a degree or postgraduate diploma in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent) and be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). Experience working with individuals with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism Spectrum Disorders is essential, and familiarity with AAC approaches is preferred.
Job Responsibilities
* Deliver SLT services to individuals with Learning Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
* Assess communication needs and implement tailored support strategies.
* Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
* Maintain an inclusive communication environment and ensure adherence to communication standards.
* Contribute to service development and participate in routine meetings.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
