Job Title: Resident Engineer – Northfleet Location: Northfleet Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.5 hours per day (40 hours per week) overtime Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Resident Engineer for a high-profile site in Northfleet, Kent. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a large fleet of industrial vehicles, primarily in a dedicated workshop setting, with some work carried out across the site as needed. Due to the site's traffic and access requirements, candidates will ideally live south of the Dartford Crossing. Training on specific equipment will be provided, but the successful candidate must be comfortable working independently and confidently with a range of machinery, previous experience as a Plant Fitter is highly desirable. Resident Engineer Key Responsibilities: Conduct repairs and maintenance on a large fleet of industrial vehicles (mostly in the dedicated workshop, with occasional work on-site Ensure all equipment is in good working order and meets the end customer's operational needs Handle technical queries and perform diagnostics and fault-finding Maintain high standards of safety and efficiency Manage and prioritise your workload to meet deadlines Opportunity for overtime if desired Requirements: NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent, or qualified by experience Previous experience working as a plant fitter or on vehicle repairs Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and handle technical challenges Ideally live south of the Dartford Crossing (due to site location and traffic conditions) Full driving license Strong communication skills to liaise with customers and colleagues Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high standards of work Additional Information: This is a standard 40-hour week with 8.5-hour shifts (including a 30-minute unpaid break) Flexible hours available The role offers ample overtime opportunities If you would like further information or have an interest in making an application for the Resident Engineer vacancy, please contact Lizzie James
