What's involved with this role: Role: Assistant Buyer Job Ref: QAD 2755/0403 Pay Rate: Competitive Market Rate Hours per week: 37 hours per week Contract Length: Anticipated 18 months Location: Reading, West Berkshire – hybrid working This role focuses on procurement and purchasing within a public sector environment, requiring strong experience in Purchase to Pay, sourcing to contract, and compliance with Public Procurement Regulations, including PCR 2015 and PA 2023. The candidate must have expertise in end-to-end public procurement, tendering, and evaluation. Experience with finance system implementations and managing multiple procurement events (5-10) is essential. Strong communication skills are crucial, and a background in nuclear or defence sectors is desirable. Key requirements: Procurement Experience – Expertise in Purchase to Pay, sourcing to contract, and end-to-end public procurement Public Procurement Regulations – Knowledge of PCR 2015 and PA 2023 compliance Tendering & Evaluation – Experience in managing and evaluating tenders System Implementation – Experience with finance system implementations Communication Skills – Strong ability to engage with stakeholders effectively.
