Complex Care Worker Pay rate: £14.00 - £15.00 per hour (weekly or monthly pay) Shift Pattern: Nights Weekdays (21:00 - 09:00) / Weekends (21:00 - 07:00). Day shifts also available. We are seeking a compassionate, empathetic and dedicated individual to join our current team as a Support Worker for a young teenage female with neurological disabilities and complex medical needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with people with disabilities, particularly teenagers, be adaptable, patient, reliable and possess a strong sense of empathy and have a willingness to learn. This role involves providing physical and emotional support to the individual, assisting with the health and social side of day-to-day activities and fostering independence whilst ensuring their safety and wellbeing in a friendly family environment. Responsibilities Provide personal care, including bathing and dressing. Assist with mobility, transfers/hoisting, and positioning. Administer medication and feeds through PEGJ. Understand the different types of ventilation. Support and assist the chest physio plans, which includes oropharyngeal suctioning. Respond promptly to emergencies and follow established protocols. Maintain daily hard and soft copy records. Engage in social interactions and recreational activities. Maintain a clean and organized environment, including light housekeeping duties of the immediate work area. Accompany and assist parents with appointments, outings etc. Communicate effectively with the individual, their family, and other healthcare professionals. Requirements Previous experience working with disabled individuals with complex needs preferred, especially with teenagers or young people. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards caregiving. Basic understanding of medical conditions and ability to follow care plans and instructions. Flexibility to primarily work nights during the week and weekends, day shifts also available, and cover holidays/sickness as required. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with the teenager and their family. Integrity to maintain confidentiality and respect privacy. Full driving licence and own transportation. In order to successfully support their clinical needs, we offer full training for the right candidate, which will include but not exhaustive; administering medication, personal care, PEGJ feeding, oropharyngeal suctioning, mechanical ventilation and emotional support throughout the night. Providing much needed respite for her parents.
