We are seeking a capable, amenable and self-motivated thermal/fluids engineer to join our team and drive our current and future aircraft and gas turbine engine programmes forward. Key Qualifications BSc/BEng in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering 3 years of gas turbine relevant heat transfer and/or fluid systems experience Experience of 1D network solvers (SPAN, FlowSimulator, Simcenter Flomaster) FEA thermal analysis (SC03 or ANSYS) experience is desirable Experience in rig and engine testing is desirable Team orientated, problem solving attitude Responsibilities The successful candidate will work within the airframe and engine design teams and be responsible for the various air and fluid systems, including: Creating fluid and thermal models to analyse the air, fuel, oil, hydraulic and heat management systems using analysis methods ranging from initial scoping calculations to 1D network solvers and FEA models. Engine thermal analysis of static and rotating components using 2D and 3D FEA models. Technical assessment of the air, fuel, oil, hydraulic and heat management systems through the design phase, into engine testing, verification, validation, certification and in-service support. Define component requirements (pumps, oil tank, filtration and separation systems, coolers) Define, plan, support and analyse engine or rig testing to verify and validate the design and achieve certification. Technical documentation of tasks and preparation of certification reports.
