The project: The project is a high value data centre for a blue-chip client. We are looking for an MEP planner who can add significant value supporting the project team as it transitions from construction to fit-out, MEP installation, commissioning and handover. Client focus - Deliver on our promise\: You will manage the delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives. You will support the long-term success of planning performance for specified engines/sectors/hubs, and the overall contribution to the broader company goals. You will support the planning function in ensuring projects and tenders are effectively planned, scheduled, and monitored. Review schematics and gain understanding of the MEP installation and commissioning strategy. Understand the major project milestones and agree with the lead project planner. Schedule all off-site testing to be undertaken. Schedule all activities involving subcontractors and equipment suppliers who have installation, commissioning roles and responsibilities. Draft a high-level drawing programme for each key area working backwards from the manufacturing programme. Draw up a high-level technical submittal programme with the items that are on the manufacturing programme and working back from the drawing programme. Develop the MEP installation and commissioning programme with assistance from the Mace MEP/commissioning team, subcontractors, and equipment suppliers to identify the responsible parties and respective activities. Review the above programmes end to end to ensure the overall duration is within the required delivery programme periods and revise to suit where necessary. Integrate the MEP/commissioning programme with the Mace delivery programme. Issue the programme to the client, client’s commissioning agent (CxA) and engineers of record for input and approval. Once agreement has been reached, issue the signed off plan to all relevant parties. Track and update progress of the MEP/commissioning programme weekly, or otherwise as agreed with the project team; provide project controls reports to assist the project team with informed decision making, including current status and forecasting trends. Update project reports weekly and monthly with MEP/commissioning progress and forecasts. You’ll need to\: Be an advanced user of Asta, and have a working knowledge of other planning software such as MS project and P6. Have experience of projects with heavy MEP and commissioning elements, such as those in the technology or manufacturing sectors. Possess detailed knowledge of\: mechanical, electrical and commissioning, including installation techniques, best practice and single system commissioning requirements, construction build elements, including sequencing and dependencies, design processes and design programmes. Be able to assist in value engineering and C2P project strategy and demonstrating programme benefits. You’ll also have\: Membership of APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development. Extensive experience in the successful planning of projects and programmes in the technology or manufacturing sector. Commercial and financial acumen. Leadership and management experience of diverse teams. Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders. Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
