Are you aspiring to become a teacher? Would you like to gain invaluable experience in a school environment while earning! Do you have the confidence to lead a class of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. Are you aware there is no formal teaching qualifications are required.
As a cover supervisor you will have the opportunity to supervise classes to provide short- term cover for absent teachers. All work will be provided, and you will ensure that it is completed in a calm working environment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise combined classes in larger spaces when required Supervise work that has been set in accordance with the school policy
Manage the behaviour of pupils whilst they are undertaking this work to ensure a constructive learning environment in accordance with the whole school behaviour system
Collect completed work and return it to the appropriate teacher
Ensure the room is left tidy and ready for the next lesson
Report back on the lesson ensuring any issues arising are reported back to the usual class teacher or relevant leader
Follow school policies and procedures especially those related to child protection and health and safety
Essential Criteria
Have an interest in supporting young children with SEND/ SEMH needs
Confidence to work with young people who exhibit challenging behaviours and struggle to regulate their emotions
Right to work in the UK
Relevant references and DBS/police check
Complete safeguarding training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
