The role is part of a team providing a comprehensive data collection, collation, and reporting service regarding screening and immunisation programs and records management, supporting screening services, 0-25 services, GPs, other community children's services, and NHS England.
Main duties of the job
Maintain electronic records and medical records for pre-school and school children, following the department's standard operating procedures to support the Healthy Child Programme. Register details for children onto the Child Health Information System (SystmOne) and ensure all babies have an NHS number allocated. Ensure an accurate database; manage system tasks, file/scan correspondence into records, and update demographic details as necessary. Handle information of a highly sensitive nature (Safeguarding), paying particular attention to protected addresses. Accurately record results and generate results letters for parents regarding screening, and investigate missing results with the responsible clinician. Check all data input (including that of colleagues) as part of the department data audit process.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield, and Weardale, as well as over 80 other community-based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Qualifications
* NVQ level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent
* Good standard of general education

Experience

* Experience of using databases
* Knowledge and experience of using patient data systems or Child Health information systems
Special Skills and Knowledge
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, experience of word processing and mail merge
