HR Business Partner Salary: Circa £42,000 Type: Permanent Hours: 37 hours per week Reports to: Director of People Location: Cheltenham About the Role: The HR Business Partner will engage with key stakeholders across various departments to create and implement localised people plans that align with the overall people strategy. The role requires building strong relationships with senior leaders to support and drive change across people activities. The HR Business Partner will manage an HR Advisor and administrative staff to ensure high-quality service for all employees, positively impacting the broader organisational experience. The role involves close collaboration with the broader people Team to deliver core priorities and objectives, focusing on Talent Development, Talent Acquisition, Engagement, and Wellbeing. Main Duties and Responsibilities Act as HR Business Partner for designated professional service areas, building strong business relationships and networks. Establish a trusted partner relationship with senior teams, contributing proactively to their agendas and goals. Support, coach, influence, and challenge managers in team management to ensure fair and consistent practices. Provide advice and guidance on complex HR casework to People Advisors and line managers. Manage and develop HR Advisors and Administrators, ensuring a professional and responsive advisory service. Collaborate with the Operations Partner to ensure efficient and effective payroll and operational administration. Work with the People Director, Head of Talent, and Operations Partner to develop and implement the People strategy and associated priorities, including leading initiatives on Belonging, Wellbeing, and Engagement. Work collaboratively to deliver People Plan programs and projects on time and with high quality, participating in tracking progress and costs. Collaborate with peers in the Partnering team on projects and change initiatives to ensure a consistent approach to People matters. Promote cultural change and continuous improvement within HR to deliver a high-quality, professional service. Support the People Director in engaging with trade union representatives and participating in relevant meetings and committees. Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and Talent Development Partners to bring in specialist knowledge and design local-level training and workshop interventions. Support belonging and wellbeing networks, providing coaching and support to promote initiatives and programs. Lead research, development, and updates of People policies, procedures, and processes, and advise managers and staff accordingly. Work with various teams to provide regular reporting on People metrics. Lead analysis and presentation of People data, workforce plans, and recommendations to managers. Conduct job evaluations as needed for workforce design and planning. Continuously update personal knowledge and skills, learning from best practices and staying informed on trends and developments. Support and engage in organisational events to promote the service area and the organisation. Responsible for health and safety duties related to the role, including adherence to relevant policies and risk assessments. Perform any other duties as directed by the line manager, commensurate with the grade of the post. Person Specification Essential: Proven experience operating at a Business Partner level within a Human Resources Department. Experience managing a range of complex employee relations casework with various client groups. Ability to influence and provide commercial and pragmatic advice. Experience leading the design and implementation of people initiatives and change programs, including restructures. Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team. Strong attention to detail with problem-solving capabilities. Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to work at pace.
