About the role Applications are invited for a highly motivated and ambitious Research Fellow to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of researchers at the newly merged Bath Institute of Sustainability and Climate Change (ISCC). The Bath Institute of Sustainability and Climate Change integrates physical, social and systems science and engineering at Bath and develops leaders in tackling critical sustainability issues. Our work spans three core themes: Sustainable Chemical Technologies Sustainable Systems Social Transformations The social transformations theme focusses on social-science led interdisciplinary research, focussing on transformative climate change solutions that look across scales and sectors. For further information about the ISCC see: Institute of Sustainability and Climate Change (bath.ac.uk) We particularly welcome candidates with expertise in some or all the following areas: Public engagement and behaviour change around climate change (mitigation and/or adaptation); Transformative action on climate change in different sectors e.g. business, government, infrastructure, communities; Experience of quantitative research methods and analysis. You will be expected to establish and pursue an independent programme of research. This will include publishing in high-quality journals and securing external research funding. As a Research Fellow you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the following core objectives of the Institute, by helping to: Establish a collegiate research culture, with a thriving, inclusive and connected research environment. Foster inter-disciplinary groups to establish cross-theme working. Lead engagement with a wide range of stakeholders relevant to the Institute’s work and representing the Institute at events. Excellent technical, organisational and presentation skills are essential, as is the ability to work well in an interdisciplinary environment. Interaction with a range of academic, policy and industrial partners will be expected. Additional information This is a part-time (0.5 FTE) position, fixed term for 3 years initially with the expectation that this will be extended through securing further funding.
