Located in Long Eaton, responsible for operating a 5 axis CNC Machine for the regrinding of carbide tooling. Are you an experienced Wood Machinist looking to work withing a very modern, clean environment that offers significant stability and scope to develop over time? We are working with a highly reputable, established manufacturer of tooling who are experiencing strong growth. As a Wood Machinist, you will primarily be operating a specialist brand of 5 axis CNC machinery to regrind tooling that has already been manufactured. You will be working on very modern machinery and typically running two machines at any given point. This could be a fantastic opportunity for a Machinist from the woodwork sector who wants to develop their CNC skills and work within a cleaner engineering facility. Several long-term employees within the business have come from this background. Additionally, we can look at more conventional CNC Miller or Grinders due to the similarity of machining processes used for regrinding. Package: Competitive Salary depending on your level of experience 25% shift premium. 22 days holiday bank holidays. Scope for some overtime at x1.5 hourly rate. Hours: Please note this position does operate on a rotating shift pattern across 2 weeks of days, and 2 weeks of nights. Specific patterns as follows. Days: 6:00am to 3:00pm Monday Thursday, 6:00am to 12:00pm Friday Nights: 9:15pm to 6:15am Sunday Wednesday, 4:00pm to 10:00pm Thursday This Wood Machinist job will suit: An Operator that has some prior CNC experience, preferably across either milling or grinding. Could suit a woodworking Machinist that has some basic CNC experience but would like to develop further skills within a precision engineering environment. The tooling that is manufactured is supplied into the woodworking sector hence why the product knowledge would help when developing these skills. An eye for detail and some form of inspection experience. Flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern and be comfortable running two machines with fairly short machining cycles.
