An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual who has a passion for training and working with staff to deliver certified training in order to support them in delivering care to patients with complex needs at Barnsley Hospital NHS Trust.
This is a new post for the Trust and will therefore provide you with an amazing opportunity to develop the role and the service. Applications for this post are invited from individuals who have experience in dealing with complex situations and will be delivering training to a number of staff. Applicants will be expected to undertake a certified external course and support staff to work through a number of modules.

Main duties of the job
1. To be involved/contribute in the promotion and implementation of the Trust policies on the management of non-deliberate violence and aggression.
2. To facilitate certified training safely and effectively in line with Health & Safety legislation and National guidance - Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) standards.
3. To report training compliance rates and alert the Head of Nursing Quality to any issues as they arise.
4. Ensure that patient experience of safety, privacy and dignity within the organisation is enhanced through the provision of effective mandatory education programs for all relevant staff.
5. Support and contribute to the audit programme with regard to incidents of non-deliberate violence and aggression ensuring results are published and shared, and that lessons learned, and improvement are evidenced.
6. Advise staff on the preparation of risk management plans to reduce and manage non-deliberate violence and aggression as directed by the personal safety lead.
7. Attend meetings as directed by line managers to provide advice on personal safety and management and reduction of non-deliberate violence and aggression in the workplace.
8. Represent the organisation on a national basis at the request of line manager or in absence of line manager for such meetings.
9. To assist Head of Nursing Quality and VPR Lead in developing joint training initiatives with other organisations as appropriate if required.

Qualifications
* 5 GCSE level including English/Maths at grade C or equivalent e.g. functional skills level 2 in English/Maths or Key Skills Level 2 Communication (Literacy)/Application of Number (Numeracy). Or evidence from NARIC of equivalent English/Maths (A*-C).
* Skills based training/qualification or relevant experience.
* Completion of MAYBO certified Train the Trainer or willing to work towards.
* Demonstrates evidence of ongoing continuous professional development.
