A fantastic opportunity has arisen within Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service (LMWS) for individuals looking to progress their mental health career by training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy via a Post-Graduate Diploma at NHS Talking Therapies High Intensity level. LMWS offers a joint recruitment process for Step 3 trainee CBT positions with Sheffield University.
Positions are available across LMWS with Leeds Community Healthcare Trust, Northpoint, and Community Links. Candidates must be willing to travel and attend university, alongside providing face-to-face clinical sessions as necessary. Annual leave must be coordinated with university term times where possible.
This post is advertising for the trainee position only. The posts will be fixed term for the duration of the course and are dependent on successful progression through the course and in line with individual employment contracts. While we strive to provide all trainees the opportunity to progress into service, we cannot guarantee a position post-qualification.
There may be an opportunity to apply for a more permanent post towards the end of the course. Advertisements will close early once the maximum number of applicants is reached. Start date: 24th February 2025. You will use CBT interventions to help individuals with a range of common mental health problems at step 3 within a stepped care model.
Responsibilities include being competent and familiar with risk assessment and case management, and undertaking regular supervision of your clinical work. You will be a conscientious, reliable, and resilient individual who prioritizes the best interests of service users in your practice. Strong organizational skills, high standards of communication, and commitment to teamwork are essential.
You must possess a high level of self-motivation and the ability to work independently. Skills in collaborative working with both professionals and service users are required.
Minimum Requirements:
Candidates must demonstrate learning equivalent to level 6 higher education study. Candidates from registered professional backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Those without a core professional background and qualification may also apply, provided they submit a completed KSA portfolio at selection.
