Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to our residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. You will play a vital role in supervising care staff, implementing care plans, and fostering a nurturing environment for seniors. Your leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively will be crucial in maintaining high standards of care.
Responsibilities
1. Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
2. Supervise and support junior care staff in their duties, providing guidance and leadership as needed.
3. Develop and implement individualised care plans tailored to the needs of each resident.
4. Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their condition.
5. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
6. Drive initiatives that enhance the quality of life for residents through engaging activities and social interaction.
7. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home environment.
Skills
1. Proven experience in senior care or within a care home setting is essential.
2. Strong leadership abilities to supervise and motivate a team effectively.
3. Excellent communication skills to interact with residents, families, and colleagues professionally.
4. Proficient IT skills for maintaining records and documentation related to care plans.
5. A compassionate approach with a genuine desire to improve the lives of seniors.
6. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
7. Medication administration.

Pay: £14.75-£16.31 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
Schedule:
1. Day shift
2. Monday to Friday
3. Night shift
4. Weekend availability
Experience:
1. Providing care: 1 year (preferred)
2. Supervisory: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
1. Driving Licence (preferred)
2. NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (preferred)
