Senior Information Analyst - fixed term until 01/12/2026
Waverley Court
We are recruiting for a highly skilled Senior Information Analyst to join our Data, Performance and Business Planning team on a fixed two-year basis. Working at the very heart of the Council, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact as you support the development of high-quality data analytics and performance information necessary to drive service improvement and make key business decisions.
You will provide data analytics support for a range of service areas including routine, ad hoc, and deep dive analytics and performance reporting. The Council uses a range of tools including Business Objects, SQL, Excel, and Power BI.
This is an exciting time to join the team as we are expanding our data, analytical, and intelligence capabilities through the implementation of Microsoft Fabric including Power BI. Working closely with the Data, Performance and Business Planning Manager, the team, and key stakeholders across the Council, you will support the development and implementation of Power BI and provide expertise in data modelling, analytics, and visualisation. A key outcome of the project will be to develop a data-driven culture in the Council where information is valued, actionable, and used to make effective business decisions and service improvements.
With an undergraduate degree or equivalent data analytics and statistical experience, you will have a proven background in modelling, analysing, visualising, and presenting complex data to enable evidence-based decisions. You will have the skills and experience to undertake complex data analysis and visualisation and to support the wider implementation of Enterprise Power BI in the Council. While prior experience of Power BI is an advantage, it is not essential, and training will be provided.
In return, you can expect support in career development, flexible working arrangements, and excellent staff benefits.
We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included, and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experiences, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.
To help achieve this, we’re changing the way we interview and assess candidates by moving from a competency-based interview approach to a behavioural and technical (skills for the job) based approach. This new way of interviewing will allow us to assess how you think and how you would bring Our Behaviours of Respect, Integrity, and Flexibility into your ways of working.
Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
