Description Wood is recruiting for an Electrical Engineer to join our Asset Management and Operational Services (AMOS) group within our Clean Energy Consulting division based in Glasgow. We are seeking an innovative and enthusiastic professional to provide electrical engineering solutions to operations and project teams, supporting the successful delivery of renewable energy projects across our portfolio of clients in the UK and internationally. This role will be based in Glasgow working on a hybrid basis with the expectation of occasional travel across the UK and internationally as required. The Role The role will focus on supporting the operational and project teams in the delivery of wind, solar and BESS projects, where you will provide hands on and desk top electrical engineering support across multiple projects. Whilst adhering to health and safety, quality and environmental standards and processes, your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with standards, installation of various systems, troubleshooting issues, proposal and report writing. The role entails a mixture of onsite and office-based work, and will involve working at height on onshore and offshore wind turbines, and meteorological (met) masts as required. Expected: Degree in Electrical or relevant engineering discipline Valid UK driving license Proven working IT skills, particularly in MS Word and Excel Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally, both onshore and offshore Good understanding of health and safety requirements in the renewables industry Understanding of complex electrical/control systems Ability to interpret electrical diagrams and other engineering drawings/principles Demonstrated understanding of engineering challenges associated with wind, solar and BESS sites Have a flexible, practical, and proactive approach to engineering High level of problem-solving ability and initiative Ability to evaluate engineering proposals Author technical reports within project deadlines and scope requirements Physically fit and able to work at height (wind turbines and met masts) Desirable: IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent) GWO Working at Height, First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, and Sea Survival Experience with wind turbine systems and technology Experience in a consultancy environment Experience with various renewable technologies such as wind, solar, and BESS Knowledge of relevant IEC 61400 standards
