Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location: Sheffield
Salary: Negotiable dependant on level experience plus;

Summary
A Principal Contractor, operating throughout England and Wales, delivering multi-disciplinary buildings and civil engineering projects for Network Rail is excited to offer an opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
You'll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and insights from senior leadership, including the Commercial Director.
You'll also have the chance to work closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor, providing direct support.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Price variations / technical queries to contracted works
* Liaise with delivery team regarding works executed
* Analyse cost reports
* Assist in producing final accounts
* Negotiate and agree final accounts with Client
* Compile cost-value reconciliations
* Submit periodic valuations
* Assessing sub-contractors claims
* Contribute to monthly commercial meetings
* Submit periodic applications for payment
* Assist with and help produce commercial reports for the Board of Directors
* Assist with all change control processes
* Work with supply chain for procurement of suppliers and S/C
* Assist with tenders
* Comply with and promote the company safety policy
* Any other duties may reasonably be required
Person Specification
Essential:
* HND/HNC
* Strong IT Skills, especially with Microsoft packages and easily able to learn to use new software
* Ability to manage a fast-paced environment, with a high-volume workload
* High accuracy and attention to detail
* Strong Numeracy skills
* Ability to work methodically, using own initiative and unsupervised
Desirable:
* Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying
* Experience in similar role, within a contracting environment
