The role The Senior ESG Policy Manager is responsible for actively engaging with policymakers and government bodies, informing and consulting on ESG policies while ensuring Sedex members navigate the complex regulatory environment effectively. Reporting to the Head of ESG Leadership and Consultancy, this role offers expert insights into ESG regulations and supports the development of solutions that integrate these regulations into Sedex's platform. A key responsibility will be working with internal teams, such as Account managers and Product team, to ensure Sedex solutions meet the evolving regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities Regulatory Guidance and Member Support: Serve as the primary contact for Sedex members on ESG regulatory matters, offering expert guidance on compliance with current and emerging regulations (e.g., CSRD, SEC, TNFD). Stay informed on regulatory changes, assessing their impact on member supply chains and providing tailored advice to help members stay compliant. Collaborate with the Account team to understand member needs and ensure Sedex’s solutions meet those demands effectively. ESG Regulatory Subject Matter Expert (SME): Work closely with the Product team to develop new solutions that address emerging regulatory requirements and enhance existing offerings. Act as the regulatory compliance expert during the product development cycle, ensuring regulatory considerations are integrated. Internal Engagement & Training: Support cross-functional teams (e.g., Sales and Marketing) by translating complex regulatory requirements into actionable solutions for members. Communicate evolving regulatory trends to internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment in strategy and solution delivery. Create resources, workshops, and training sessions to educate Sedex members on the regulatory landscape and the role of Sedex solutions in achieving compliance. Partner with Marketing and Communications to develop regulatory updates and thought leadership content to engage members. ESG Advocacy: Represent Sedex in industry forums, regulatory discussions, and public consultations, advocating for best practices in ESG compliance and promoting Sedex’s role in shaping the future of ESG regulations. Engage with policymakers and government officials to provide input on ESG policies, helping to shape regulations in alignment with Sedex’s vision and member needs. Knowledge, Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Sustainability, Law, Business) or equivalent experience. 5 years of experience in ESG, sustainability, regulatory compliance, or related fields. In-depth understanding of regulatory frameworks such as ESRS. Proven experience working with cross-functional teams and managing complex projects. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory information into actionable advice. Proactive, solutions-oriented approach with the ability to anticipate member needs and contribute to product innovation. Preferred - Experience in supply chain management or with a membership organization and familiarity with the Sedex platform and solutions.
