We have an opportunity for a person to train as a non-destructive testing (NDT) technician.
NDT involves testing of components that may fail in process, chemical, storage, transport, shipping and numerous other sectors. There is plenty of information online.
No previous experience is necessary, but the work is a mixture of on-site physical inspection and office-based technical report writing; which require a good command of English and skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Full training will be given on the job with formal training at established NDT training centres. This will be paid for by the company.
Requirements: Three GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and maths and good aided or unaided eyesight. As some of the work involves working at height and confined spaces the successful candidate will need a good level of fitness and agility. A clean driving licence is also essential.
The job will require working away from home from time to time, and will also involve working overtime and weekends.
