Employee working groups The Role We are currently recruiting an Architectural Technologist to join our Colchester office. The role will involve working as an Architectural Technologist to provide technical design services and project management across a broad spectrum of services provided by the Practice. The selected candidate will… Accept instructions from clients to understand their requirements and develop their briefs. Produce feasibility reports for clients which fully consider statutory restrictions and client briefing from outset. Prepare any necessary building regulation, planning applications, Listed Building applications and monitor and deal with as necessary by liaising with clients, other consultants, and relevant authorities. Prepare design drawings for competitive tender including production of working drawings and plans and producing pre-tender estimates and obtaining costs from suppliers. Undertake tendering process and post tender analysis, including production of tender report to client and potential value engineering exercise and make recommendations to client where required by the contract/project. Act as Project Manager on projects by attending site for Pre-Start and Project Meetings. Be aware of the scope of services for each project and be mindful of this on a day-to-day basis with a view to seeking additional fees where possible in the context of a balanced relationship with the client. Take ownership of/responsibility for matters arising from projects under control. Deliver technical and co-ordination aspects of projects under portfolio control and ensure excellence of delivery. Take day-to-day responsibility for ensuring project portfolio is kept on track and assigned resource is informed of short- and long-term goals within programme. Complete tasks as assigned by the team leader. Meet annual and monthly fee targets as directed by the Office Partner. Essential skills, experience, and attributes… Advance experience of Revit. Experience in the residential sector preferred Managing projects directly in client facing role according to the RIBA stages in the Plan of Work and the different procurement processes that relate to these. Experience of running projects from feasibility to completion and attending client and site meetings. Have a good level of knowledge for construction detailing and be able to resolve construction related queries Architectural Technologist Degree is essential MCIAT or working towards professional qualification is preferred.
